There was a spare brush in the bathroom, new and packed, along with other toiletries. After freshening up and changing, I stepped out. Aarav was still sitting there, just as I had left him. The sound of the door made him turn around. His eyes told me he wanted to say something but couldn't. I hadn't forgotten anything.
How could I? But one thing I had understood was that Aarav would never hurt an innocent person.
"You should go freshen up," I said, breaking the awkward silence.
"Yeah," he replied, getting up from the bed and heading to the cupboard to grab his clothes. I sat back down on the bed as he went into the bathroom.
As I sat there, my thoughts were a jumbled mess. The events of the previous night were still fresh in my mind, and I couldn't shake the image of Aarav in that video. But at the same time, I knew in my heart that Aarav wasn't a monster.
